The lover is a monotheist who knows that other people worship different gods but cannot himself imagine that there could be other gods. ~Theodor Reik, Of Love and Lust, 1957
Love makes everything lovely.
When someone is born, someone dies,
Some one laughs, someone cries,
If you love someone let them know,
’cause if they leave tomorrow they will never know
Age does not protect you from love, but love to some extent protects you from age.
The most wonderful of all things in life, I believe, is the discovery of another human being with whom one’s relationship has a glowing depth, beauty, and joy as the years increase. This inner progressiveness of love between two human beings is a most marvelous thing, it cannot be found by looking for it or by passionately wishing for it. It is a sort of Divine accident.
The truth is often the most painful thing to handle & lies? Lies make the truth seem more glamorous but all in all…they both have the power to shatter everything you’ve ever wanted or known. It’s up to you not to let that happen no matter which one is thrown your way
If you don’t have it here (pointing to the heart), it doesn’t matter what you’ve got here (pointing at the head). Barbara Johnson
Never let a problem to be solved become more important than a person to be loved.
Everyone is aware of the difficult and menacing situation in which human society — shrunk into one community with a common fate – now finds itself, but only a few act accordingly. Most people go on living their every-day life: half frightened, half indifferent, they behold the ghostly tragi-comedy which is being performed on the international stage before the eyes and ears of the world. But on that stage, on which the actors under the floodlights play their ordained parts, our fate of tomorrow, life or death of the nations, is being decided.
He has achieved success who has lived well, laughed often, and loved much.
Nobody is worth your tears, and the one who is won’t make you cry.
I see you in every passing face
Every individual has a place to fill in the world, and is important, in some respect, whether he chooses to be so or not.
What a man thinks of himself, that it is which determines, or rather indicates, his fate.
When I think about making friends I’m reminded of the friendship quotes from the bible that says “If a man has friends, he must show himself friendly.” I sometimes ask myself why I’m not more popular, although I do have a few friends I hang out with. I like to make friends with people at work, but sometimes wonder why it doesn’t happen as much as I like.
