new quotes for the summer

long time to updating the quotes to live by blog.

never mind, here are great quotes for the summer:

I’ve never really understood that. It’s a funny thing; people sometimes accuse us of condescending to our characters somehow-that to me is kind of inexplicable.

I just think that it’s such a good show and timeless and still very funny, and that just makes me happy to have that whole first season in one concentrated space for people to enjoy so that it’s not hit and miss trying to find it in syndication always.

Jenna Elfman

Tenderness emerges from the fact that the two persons, longing, as all individuals do, to overcome the separateness and isolation to which we are all heir because we are individuals, can participate in a relationship that, for the moment, is not of two isolated selves but a union.

Rollo May

Life is a journey and it is love that makes that journey worthwhile. True love has no limits.

Love comes when manipulation stops; when you think more about the other person than about his or her reactions to you. When you dare to reveal yourself fully. When you dare to be vulnerable. Dr. Joyce Brothers

If life begins at 40, what are you supposed to do until then?

Marriage is like jogging through a puddle of industrial strength rubber glue. You can work hard and make it through the struggles; however, you usually leave your bobby socks and sneakers behind along the way.

Friends are people who borrow my books and set wet glasses on them.

I’m a classic example of all humorists — only funny when I’m working.

Being deeply loved by someone gives you strength; loving someone deeply gives you courage. Lao Tzu

stacey dash quotes

we all love stacey dash,so i tried to find some stacey dash quotes for you to read, but it was just impossible. all if found is this quote:

“I went to my last three years of high school in New Jersey. I just wanted to act, you know?”

so i hope we can all learn here a valuable lesson – not all great actors always have something catchy to say!

anyway here are some quotes that will make you happy:

“People love others not for who they are but for how they make them feel”

They seemed to come suddenly upon happiness as if they had surprised a butterfly in the winter woods.

If only we’d stop trying to be happy we could have a pretty good time.

The Constitution only gives people the right to pursue happiness. You have to catch it yourself.

“Love is the condition in which the happiness of another person is essential to your own.”

When one door of happiness closes, another opens; but often we look so long at the closed door that we do not see the one which has been opened for us.

My complaint about Discount Gift Cards

My complaint about Discount Gift Cards

Allow me to introduce myself. I’m the founder of the Anti-Discount Gift Cards Society. In this letter, I will tell you what made me form such an organization and how I plan to use it to put to rest the animosities that have kept various groups of people from enjoying anything other than superficial unity. Permit me this forum to rant. I hereby publicly condemn Discount Gift Cards’s insincere ravings. In doing so, I publicly proclaim that it denies that it has been taking advantage of human fallibility to outrage the very sensibilities of those who value freedom and fairness. Its denials clearly contradict reports from eyewitnesses who saw it tormenting, harrying, and persecuting anyone who crosses its path. I’d like to see Discount Gift Cards spin its way out of that one.

When surveyed, only two percent of Discount Gift Cards’s lickspittles agreed with the statement, “Discount Gift Cards has no fixed ethical principles.” This is a frightening statistic to those who rely on, or simply support, social tolerance and open-mindedness. Discount Gift Cards has been going around claiming that courtesy and manners don’t count for anything. When challenged about the veracity of that message, Discount Gift Cards attributed its contradictions of the truth to “poetic license”. That means “lying”. We have to start talking with one another honestly, in honest language. I won’t dwell on that except to direct your attention to the chthonic manner in which it has been trying to establish a world government complete with a world army, a world parliament, a world court, and numerous other agencies that rob Peter to pay Paul. It is sad to see Discount Gift Cards legitimize the fear and hatred of the privileged for the oppressed. Discount Gift Cards’s subordinates probably don’t realize that because it’s not mentioned in the funny papers or in the movies. Nevertheless, I have a New Year’s resolution for it: It should pick up a book before it jumps to the dodgy conclusion that I’m too jealous to put inexorable pressure on it to be a bit more careful about what it says and does.

As pompous as Discount Gift Cards’s adages are, Discount Gift Cards and its foot soldiers are on a recruiting campaign, trying to convince everyone they meet to participate in perpetuating the nonsense known technically as the analytic/synthetic dichotomy. Don’t join that junta; instead, remember the scriptures: “Thou shalt not follow a multitude to do evil.” Oleaginous geeks are often found at Discount Gift Cards’s elbow. This suggests to me that Discount Gift Cards’s inclinations will have consequences—very serious consequences. We ought to begin doing something about that. We ought to develop a rational-empirical base for dialogue about Discount Gift Cards’s perversions. We ought to spread the word that when it was first found making things worse, I was scared. I was scared not only for my personal safety; I was scared for the people I love. And now that Discount Gift Cards is planning to foment amoral forms of political tyranny, I’m unequivocally terrified. Because Discount Gift Cards is so caught up in trying to bamboozle people into believing that this is the best of all possible worlds and that it is the best of all possible organizations, I’d like to conclude this letter by quoting to it the last line of R. M. Rilke’s poem, “Archaic Torso of Apollo”: “You must change your life.”

cool quotes

cool quotes

If you once forfeit the confidence of your fellow citizens, you can never regain their respect and esteem. You may fool all of the people some of the time; you can even fool some of the people all the time; but you can’t fool all of the people all of the time.

One must eat to live, and not live to eat.

“When I was kidnapped, my parents snapped into action. They rented out my room.”

The wisest man I have ever known once said to me: “Nine out of every ten people improve on acquaintance,” and I have found his words true.

I am not the boss of my house. I don’t know when I lost it. I don’t know if I ever had it. But I have seen the boss’s job and I do not want it.

Seldom seen, soon forgotten.

“There’s no trick to being a humorist when you have the whole government working for you.”

oscar movie awards quotes

oscar movie awards quotes

Despite what the Wall Street Journal says, our awards are the best-kept secret in America, with the possible exception of what George W. Bush did in the Seventies.

What you know you can’t explain but you feel it. You’ve felt it your entire life, that there’s something wrong with the world. You don’t know what it is, but it’s there, like a splinter in your mind, driving you mad

This is the highlight of my day. I hope it’s not all downhill from here.

My friend James Cameron and I made three films together – True Lies, The Terminator and Terminator 2. Of course, that was during his early, low-budget, art-house period.

Mouse: Maybe they couldn’t figure out what to make chicken taste like, which is why chicken tastes like everything.

Mel Brooks gave a hilarious acceptance speech when “The Producers” won the Oscar for original screenplay (1968): “I’ll just say what’s in my heart: ‘Ba-bump, ba-bump, ba-bump.’ “

keith olbermann fired

keith olbermann fired

Keith Theodore Olbermann is an American political commentator and writer. A former sportscaster and news anchor, Olbermann most recently hosted Countdown with Keith Olbermann, an hour-long nightly commentary program on MSNBC.

Keith Olbermann, one of the best known cable news personalities on either side of the political spectrum, was abruptly fired yesterday by MSNBC.

Olbermann, in the middle of a four-year $30 million deal set to last until 2012, announced on last night’s edition of Countdown that it was his last.

The dismissal is said to be at least indirectly related to Comcast’s acquiring of NBC and the parent company’s distaste for his defiance and attitude.

In a statement, MSNBC said : “MSNBC and Keith Olbermann have ended their contract. The last broadcast of ‘Countdown with Keith Olbermann’ will be this evening. MSNBC thanks Keith for his integral role in MSNBC’s success and we wish him well in his future endeavors.”

MSNBC announced that “The Last Word with Lawrence O’Donnell” would replace “Countdown” at 8 p.m., with “The Ed Show” with Ed Schultz taking Mr. O’Donnell’s slot at 10 p.m.

zorrilla animal

Zorrilla Animal: What comes to your mind when you hear “the word Zorilla. I was thinking of a great and wild animals living in the rainforest: Gorilla. The name is similar, only different is the initial letter, but they are totally different.

zorilla small, carnivorous, nocturnal mammal, Ictonyx striatus, of the weasel family, found in dry regions of Africa. It is also called striped weasel and striped polecat. Although it strongly resembles the North American skunk , a member of the same family, it is more closely related to the true polecat of Eurasia. The zorilla has thick fur with black and white markings, and a long, bushy tail. Its anal glands secrete a pungent fluid that can be ejected as a defense against predators. It is avoided by other animals. It lives in rocky crevices and hunts by night, feeding on small reptiles and rodents. Other African members of the weasel family, also called striped weasels, are more weasellike in appearance, with long, slender bodies. Zorillas are classified in the phylum Chordata , subphylum Vertebrata, class Mammalia, order Carnivora, family Mustelidae

Zorilla is a kind of skunk living in sub-Saharan Africa. Some people consider that Zorilla smelliest animal on earth because the stench can be smelled half a mile away! Can you imagine?

and now for the serious question of today:
